Lux: sept tableaux le long de la mer comprises seven choreographed theater performances based on two original pieces for piano by composer Héctor Cavallaro. The result of a year of research and creation combining music, dance, and theater, the Lux Project is a dialog between the dramatic shadows of Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro ( These two musical pieces, Étude sur l’ombre chez Caravaggio (2018) and Étude sur la lumière chez Reverón (2021), are inspired by these two painters’ use of pictorial light and the unexpected similarities of their work in spite of the ocean and centuries separating them. This piece was conceived of and is directed by Héctor Cavallaro, a musicologist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist, and Marysol Gómez, a specialist of physical theater and the founder and director of the Compagnie Interthéâtre.
